When you breathe your last
where will you carry your accolades?
When the world is in tatters
will you carry them to heaven or to hades?
Riches earned for your glory,
A hundred medals on the pedestal
Do they console you
every time you fell?
You run incessantly
Trying to keep up in the worldly race
did you ever wonder
what were you trying to chase?
You did everything you could
Yet you were in despair?
Won all that was possible
And yet you sat worrying, on a rocking chair?
You filled up your pockets
with notes of 'value'
Yet life's filled with groans
and a worthless job to pursue
Words of advice
you listen to everyday
yet they do not have the Grace
to lift you up in your dismay?
Why then you run behind these things
Why waste your time, Oh mankind?
When all that they are..
Is just dust in the wind,
When all that they are..
simply illusions of your mind
